What was the highlight of Flamingo Vallarta Hotel Marina
Relaxing 4-night stay in a lovely Mexican hotel at the Marina
The location at the Marina, the general look/feel/ambiance of the hotel, starting in the lobby. The little bar, the on-site restaurant, the friendly staff. The patio door in our room (#112) led right out to the pool and dining/beverage area. We could walk to either the restaurant on site in 1 minute and several restaurants in the Marina within 5-10 minutes. The queen beds were comfortable and the air-conditioning worked very well. The hotel and room is authentic Mexican in decor and simplicity -- also clean and comfortable. We had a table for 4 (inside) this visit, which we enjoyed for meals. We enjoy the iguanas on property. The hotel is not on the beach, which is fine with us as its location is perfect for wandering around in the boat area and enjoying the many good restaurants nearby.
Some personnel (desk) don't speak as much English as we'd like (to avoid confusion), of which there was some when checking in) but it is a Mexican hotel, so we understand and we all did our best, with me asking in Spanish if the staff can clarify. Bell guys are usually more fluent in English -- they are good about ordering taxis and helping out in various ways. Some of the furniture this visit was in clear need of maintenance or re-painting. The little loveseat was so soft that it sunk deep, so was difficult to get up from. We've stayed there twice and enjoy the ambience so would like to stay longer than just 4 or 5 days. However, with no coffee pot, mini-fridge or microwave, it's difficult as we usually bring home leftovers from dinner and those go to waste. It's inconvenient for us but we figure if they had those little niceties, the prices would go up. We also wish there were screens on the patio door, so we could leave the door open for a breeze. Oh well. We like most things there or we wouldn't be returning.

The place is a bit old but very clean and friendly staff
Very friendly staff, big room and clean, great buffet and menu, has aircon
Wifi is very slow. The room has stairs so a bit difficult if you have many luggages, the overall property is a bit old and bathroom is small but pretty clean. Difficult to watch tv if you can’t understand and read Spanish

The resort is at the marina with many restaurants, stores and on Thursday a market with many goods to purchase.
They overcharged me $90 and I have asked repeatedly for it to be refunded.
